Shasta Camper

The landscape is absolutely beautiful - so serene! I went by myself for 1 night, and it was my first time camping. The owner, Tim, was so helpful and friendly. He helped me get my phone set up to Star Link (hit or miss reception) and also pointed out the entrance to the Chimney Mountain trail. It took me a total of 2 hours to hike. I used the kayak in the morning. There is a small dock to help get it in/out (also used for fishing, etc...) I didn't even have to get my feet wet! My concerns about camping in general were spiders and bears, neither of which I saw. There are 2 chairs by the fire pit and lanterns provided that you will need when using the outhouse. I did not use the stove. I was able to drive across the bridge and park right next to the camper. The supply check list they provided was incredibly helpful. The only thing I would add is some hand sanitizer. Overall, this was a very memorable experience, and I hope to return!

Awesome stay, very rustic and serene. Propane stovetop to cook simple meals. Campfires every night. Kings flow lake to bath and cleanse. Nearby town Indian Lake Restaurant has great bbq ribs.

If you are looking to stay in the quietest, most private and peaceful spot around, then this is the one. Listen to the river, watch the fireflies, feel the wind through the screen door, smell the fire.
